Crop, fisheries damage reach P129M due to Kanlaon eruption

Damages to crops and fisheries caused by the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon have reached P128,624,693.52 as of January 6, according to a report from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.

Damage to rice crops is estimated at P3,059,362.02; corn at P503,352.50; high-value crops at P124,931,974; and fisheries at P130,005.

The affected areas include Bago City, with six barangays and 144 farmers impacted; La Carlota City, with two barangays and nine farmers affected; and La Castellana, with one barangay and 46 farmers affected. (TDE)
