Dengue cases in Negros Occidental have seen a significant rise of 354.48% in 2024 compared to the previous year, according to data from the Provincial Health Office.
The province reported a total of 6,799 dengue cases from January 1 to December 31, 2024, with 22 recorded deaths. This marks an increase of 5,303 cases compared to the 1,496 cases reported in 2023.
Bago City recorded the highest number of cases, with 1,042 reported cases and one death. Other localities with notable dengue cases include San Carlos City (552 cases), Hinoba-an (424 cases), Silay City (412 cases), Talisay City (411 cases), Kabankalan City (387 cases), Cauayan (383 cases), Sagay City (376 cases), Cadiz City (329 cases), and Sipalay City (290 cases).
