CENRO Cadiz joins promotion of Ph bamboo

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-CENRO Cadiz City joins the celebration of the Philippine Bamboo Month last week of September.

A total of 50 bamboo planting stock materials were planted at Sitio Hiyang-hiyang in Brgy. Celestino Villacin, Cadiz City on Sept. 27.

The planting activity was participated by the Peoples Organization of BCVVFA and CVFA, KAPATIRAN, Forest Guards and Brgy. Kagawad Rolando Artajo.

This year's initiative intends to promote Bamboo as a commodity species that can contribute to climate change mitigation, socio-economic development, and poverty alleviation through alternative livelihood.

The Philippine Bamboo Month theme this year urges Filipinos to plant bamboo for conservation, livelihood and posterity--“Buong Bansa Magtanim: Kawayan para sa Kalikasan, Kabuhayan, Kaunlaran at Kinabukasan.”
