The Municipality of E. B. Magalona marked the 17th World Rabies Day at the Public Plaza Friday, Sept. 29, highlighting the importance of saving lives from the deadly rabies, and to remind the public on responsible pet ownership.
Attending the activities were Mayor Marvin Malacon, Vice Mayor Eric Matulac, Sangguniang Bayan Members Gilda Parcon, Edgardo Agravante Jr., Reylan Gamboa Sr., Joey Pugales, and Isidro Gomed Jr., Kagawad Matthew Louis Malacon, president of Barangay Kagawad Association of Saravia (BAKAS); 3rd District Veterinarian Ruffa Mae Gersaniva, and Acting Municipal Agriculturist Efren Garcia Jr.
Among the activities in the municipality were the 3rd Dog Fashion Show where the winners received trophies and cash prizes from the mayor and BAKAS president.
A Veterinary Mission was also held where dogs and owners availed of free pet consultation, pet deworming, and anti-rabies vaccination conducted by 3rd District Veterinarian Ruffa Mae Gersaniva, with the assistance of Municipal Agriculturist’s Office.
A dog walk and video presentation of the Municipal Health Office on anti-rabies awareness campaign were also organized.

This year’s World Rabies Day theme, "All for 1, One Health for All” underscored the fact that health is not only for a select few but for everyone. (PR)
