The almost finished San Carlos City hall annex building, considered as a green building, will serve as the home for several offices of the city government soon.
This 7-storey environmentally-friendly structure has been designed and constructed with sustainable materials and energy-efficient systems to accommodate various departments and agencies of the city government, providing them with a modern and eco-friendly workspace.
Situated behind the 2-storey old city hall and connected to it through a bridge, it will house offices such as the City Mayor's Office, City Planning and Development Office, and other administrative units.
CIty Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo said he wants to gather all local government offices in one place to make the transacting public comfortable and the ease of doing business in the city more convenient, especially during the Business-One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) at the start of the year to promote more business investments.
The green building also features natural lighting and ventilation; designated spaces for city hall guests and transacting clients; and promoting responsible waste disposal practices among occupants.
By constructing the City Hall Annex building, San Carlos City government demonstrates its commitment to sustainability, economic development and environmental progress.
The city's environmental initiative is what makes it apart from other LGUs and which also sets an example for other organizations and individuals to follow. (PR)
