MANILA -- Expect occassional light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms over Mindanao due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the state weather bureau said Tuesday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) also said due to a cold front affecting extreme Northern Luzon, the Batanes group of islands will have light rains while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have a mixture of “sunny to partly cloudy skies” with possible light passing rains mostly in the afternoon or evening due a localized thunderstorm.
In its advisory, Pagasa said that moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast to east with slight to moderate seas.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said strong to gale force winds associated with the northeast monsoon may affect the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon.
"Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves," it said. (PNA)
