NEGRENSE Julie Uychiat has amazingly achieved her ultimate challenge citing her participation in the World Marathon Challenge, where she incredibly ran in seven marathons on seven continents in seven days.
She did it out of her love and compassion to help the disadvantaged children under the Kalipay Negrense Foundation who are enduring different circumstances in life, particularly those who are homeless, abandoned, neglected, malnourished, physically and sexually abused, and victims of child labor, and trafficking.
Advocating for this laudable cause gave her running a greater meaning and purpose.
She is believed to be the first Filipina and the Fastest Filipino to finish the World Marathon Challenge, bannering her chosen charity for disadvantaged kids - Run for Kalipay.
Uychiat, her husband Jim Guschl, and her niece Magan Uyciat, recently turned over P4 million in a donation to Kalipay Negrense Foundation officials led by Anna Balcells.
She said, "I did a fund-raising campaign called Run for Kalipay, and through the generous donations of my family and friends, I raised close to P2M pesos. My husband, Jim Guschl, promised to match whatever amount I raise via our personal, non-profit foundation called Project PH. With my husband's contributions, the total money we raised from the run for the Kalipay campaign is P4M."
This cause will help provide a new life for the disadvantaged kids and teenagers who are equally supported and housed by the Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Inc. in Bacolod City.
The Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Inc. officials and the beneficiaries also showed their sincerest gratitude to Ms. Uychiat and her husband, who did a great act of kindness, compassion, and love for those underprivileged children and teenagers.*
