Bacolod Tourism Week 2023: STI WNU, LCC-B win tour guiding tilt

Kyrie Meliz Ferrer of STI-West Negros University (STI-WNU) and Clarisse Mol Geriane of La Consolation College-Bacolod (LCC-B) dominated the college and junior high school categories, respectively, of the Tourism Tour Guiding competition yesterday, Sept. 14, at the Activity Center of the Ayala Malls Capitol Central

Khenn Roland Yusay of LCC-B joined the collee category winner as 1st runner-up, while Jhamyr Francis Las of Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS) clinched the 1st runner-up in the junior high category.

In celebration of the 2023 Bacolod City Tourism Week, the event was in line with the World Tourism Day and Tourism & Green Investments.

The college category consolation prizes were given to the University of St. La Salle (USLS), VMA Global College & Training Center, and Collegio San Agustin Bacolod (CSAB).

The junior high school consolation prizes were given to CSA-B, Bata National High School (BNHS), and Sum-ag National High School (SNHS).

The participating schools and participantsfor the college category: LCC-B as represented by Yusay with coach is Florence Joy Soriano.

Carlos Hilado Memorial State College was represented by Princess Nicka Delos Reyes with coach Mark Anthony Togores.

STI-WNU was represented by Ferrer with coach Michael Tiongco. VMA was represented by Joshua Japitana with coach Ma. Jelanor Libo-on.

USLS was represented by Sarah Lawrence Jurada with coach Jazztine Gellera. CSA-B was represented by Eunice Callos.

For the junior high school category: BNHS was represented by Allyza Mae Galvan with coach Jercel Beriton. The SNHS participant was Samantha Franz Louie Trujillo with coach Maribelle Haresco.

Mandalagan National High School was represented by Ashly Nicole Jacinto with coach Jessica Encarnado. The CSA-B participant wasNeil Lamech Paler with coach Mark Cuarte.

LCC-B participant Geriane was with coach Angel Pearl Diola. STI-WNU was represented by participant RV Grace L. Solitano with coach Jimson Abong. BCNHS participant Las was with coach Cherry Ann Esparas.

Moreover, Bacolod Tourism head Ma.Teresa Manalili graced the celebration and considered the event as a good training ground for those who aspire to work in the tourism industry.

She wished everyone good luck for the competition and may this event provide them with a meaningful experience that will boost their morale in pursuing a career in tourism.*
