MUSLIM brothers and sisters associated with the DAR-AL-DHKR Islamic Center in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City yesterday prayed to Allah to end the Coronavirus disease pandemic as many have already been flagged by the risk it caused to one's health, Sister Hamidah, wife of Imam Omar

Betita said on May 24.

Their family and few members gathered to a small feast to commemorate Eid'l Fitr which signaled the end of fasting during the season of Ramadan.

The Muslim community around the world marked the celebration of Eid'l Fitr, a known significant holiday for our Muslim brothers and sisters and their respective families who went on monthlong fasting during the season of Ramadan.

Sister Hamidah said as much as they would want to celebrate the occasion as one, they never did due to the threat of Coronavirus disease.

Eid'l Fitr celebration is usually marked every year at the Bacolod City Government Center grounds where the whole members of the center gather to celebrate.

But with Covid-19, they have it in a simple celebration held either inside the center or at the respective homes of their fellow Muslims.

The celebration was a combination of prayer and a thanksgiving function.

All attendees were required to wear face masks and observe healthful practices.

Everyone is so thankful to Allah for allowing them to endure fasting and the sacrifice caused by Covid-19 that similarly hit their means of living.

"Before, we gather in a field to pray, hug each other, and celebrate as one. But now, we cannot do it anymore due to Covid-19. We just encouraged our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters to have a small feast in their own homes

to greet the end of fasting," she said.

During their prayer at the center, they have distributed "Sajadah" (a small carpet) which was used individually during prayer time. After that, each was given Sajadah as a gift, she said.
