Kadalag-an Festival wins Best of Festival Dances

THE Kadalag-an Festival of Victorias City bagged P100,000 after winning the championship of the Best of Festival Dance Competition, April 18.

The winners were followed by the Tinabu-ay Festival of the Municipality of Murcia and Kansilay Festival of Silay City, as first and second runners-up, and P75,000 and P50,000, respectively.

The third runner-up Pinta Flores Festival of San Carlos City received P30,000, while the Kisi-Kisi Festival of the Municipality of Ilog who place fourth runner-up won P20,000.

The said competition was part of the highlights of the 2023 Panaad sa Negros Festival which showcases the festival dances, cultures, products, and talents of the Negrenses living in various towns and cities in the province.

The Panaad Festival is known as the mother of all festivals in the province wherein all are showcased into one big festival.

Sen. Bong Go and Sen. Francis Tolentino joined Gov. Eugenio Lacson, Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, board members, Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, and Association of Chief Executives President and Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez in the affair.

Benitez was jubilant with the victory of the Kadalag-an festival dancers who executed a remarkable performance during the competition.

The special award for Best Festival Video Introduction and P20,000 went to the City of San Carlos.

One of the attractions during the competition was the participation of La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan who joined her Bailes de Luces Festival dancers who also gained the applause of her fellow mayors and public officials and the crowd.
