Negrense artists mount ‘Likha’ Art Exhibit

IN CELEBRATING National Arts Month, various art pieces made by Negrense artists are being showcased at the ‘Likha’ Art Exhibit which opened on February 15-28, 2023 at the Ground Floor, LBC Hallway, Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City.

Sugar Cuenca-Tonogbanua said the said art exhibit was organized by the Mixlada Art Group, in partnership with Ayala Malls Capitol Central.

Art Association of Bacolod (AAB) Founding Member Mr. Rodney Martinez, AAB member Ms. Patty Jane Ku Ong, and AMCC General Manager Ms. Sharon Ciocon led the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The art exhibit features the works of Negrense artists namely Agustin Chavez, Jr., Mai Cuenca, Anthony Tonogbanua, Malou Flores, Andrea Locsin, Marides Zayco, Bamboo Tonogbanua, Marie Resureccion, Charles Villanueva, Ma. Joeyyanne Lo, Christine De Villa Ragudo, Mei-Mei Lonasco, Chen Leviña, Michelle Ma Belle Corteza, Chrysee Semillano, Noel Martinez, Cyrene Cuenca, Patty Jane Ku Ong, February Cherryl, Pablita Nava, Giliohn Quiamco, Ramon Alonso, Jean Gancia, Remy Bañez, Jenevieve Abeto, Robert De Aro, Joshua Decolongon, Steve Maquiling, Juliet Emperado, Sugar C. Tonogbanua, Kristine Alonso, Kon Faustino, Ziarene Talamillo and Lito Labayen.

Sugar Cuenca - Tonogbanua said the purpose of the exhibit is to help promote the artworks of Negrense Artists and share the joy with the viewers and help artists and their families.

She also thanked the artists and the Ayala management for supporting the cause of the local artists to motivate them to continue their passion for the arts.

Their group believes that when they look for opportunities to help each other grow and hone their artistic skills, they can help propagate the local artworks that will continue to make a name for themselves.

She also urged art lovers and enthusiasts to visit the art exhibit so that they can also satisfy their cravings for the arts.*
