LET your mind experience acrobatic perceptual tricks through The Science Circus, a traveling exhibition of The Mind Museum that is available now at Robinsons Place Bacolod until May 6.

Joseph Sian, regional operations director of Robinsons Land Corporation for Visayas and Mindanao; Christine Tomas, regional marketing communications manager; Faye Francis Ramos, marketing communications officer; and Maria Isabel Garcia, curator of The Mind Museum led the opening of the Science Circus on April 5 at the Fountain Area.

The exhibit showcases amusing, peculiar and extraordinary everyday experiences in the form of interactive exhibits that deceive the senses as well as boggle the mind, Garcia said.

The Science Circus combines circus fun, art and Science in one very interesting exhibit. Each exhibit is more than just a photo opportunity perfect for posting in social media.

The 4D interactive exhibits aim to let the visitors experience and even explain facts of science found in our everyday lives.

“During the summer vacation, all students experience the summer slide in learning. We hope to help in bridging the gap by providing the kids of Bacolod with a fun and interesting display that either introduces or reinforces scientific concepts during their free time,” Sian said.

He said they are confident that this exhibit by The Mind Museum will be a hit not only among young children and teens, but to the young adult mall goers as well.

It also aims to draw families to the mall for a one-of-kind learning and bonding activity with science and discovery as the focal points.

The month-long Science Circus is priced at P50.

Those who buy at Robinsons Affiliates with a minimum purchase of P1,000 will get one pass, mall partners with a minimum purchase of P500 can get one pass, and Central Walk partners with P200 minimum purchase will get one pass.

The Science Circus will also unveil the “blindness” of one’s eye through floating heads and bodies, deceptive room interiors, playful eyes that follow you wherever you go and other mind-boggling illusions.

Guests can also engage their minds in puzzles and relish how math and art come together.

Linger in different areas animated by simple machines, a spinning chair that you would be challenged to sit on or spin in, and a funky selfie kaleidoscope.

All of these will surely engage kids and families to have fun with physics and engineering.

“This is a very special travelling exhibition that The Mind Museum has made. We conceived it and designed it. We look for partners which are forward-looking like Robinsons in terms of having educational learning fun exhibits in public places like malls. We want to make Filipinos aware that science is everywhere. This is the first time here in Bacolod. We want to reach everyone and experience it,” Garcia said.

“The message of this Science Circus is that your senses can deceive you because our brains are really weird. It is so tricky when you take pictures. You know that they are not giants but in the picture, they seem like giants. So what is it that your brain telling you? You should not always believe what you see because it can deceive you. That is why it is called The Science Circus,” she added.
