NEGROS Occidental Fifth District Representative Ma. Lourdes "Marilou" Arroyo distributed E-trikes to 117 barangays, covering her congressional district at the Socio-Cultural Center in the town of Isabela last week.
Arroyo has fulfilled her promise to the Punong Barangays that they will provide them with Christmas gifts this Yuletide season.
"It’s fulfilling to see the barangay captains happy this Christmas," Arroyo said.
She said all the barangay captains those who are supporting her or those who may not are included in the distribution.
The distribution was held at the Isabela Socio Cultural Center with Mayor Rhumyla Mangilimutan of La Castellana, Mayor Alejandro Mirasol of Binalbagan, Isabela Mayor Irene Montilla of Isabela, Ella Garcia-Yulo of Moises Padilla and candidate for board members Rolito "Boyet" Espinosa and Anton Occeño. Himamaylan Mayor Raymond Tongson, who is in Manila, also sent his video message during the program.
After the distribution, the barangay captains drove their E-trikes and had a caravan around the Isabela Town with Arroyo.
Montilla thanked Arroyo for her generosity to her constituents in the Fifth District.
"The projects that she provided us were all worthy projects that speak of her great concern and love for the people of the Fifth District," she said.
For her part, Mangilimutan also thanked Arroyo for always thinking about the welfare of La Castellana and all the towns and cities of the Fifth District.
“The E-trikes are part of the many projects we all enjoyed under her leadership. Arroyo leads us in genuine service to the people. Thank you for this advance Christmas for our barangay leaders,” she said
Like the rest of the chief executives of the Fifth District, Garcia-Yulo also thanked Arroyo for her very responsive leadership.
"Her office will normally call our office that the congresswoman has projects for you. Most of the time, it is her office that coordinates with us in terms of projects and Moises Padilla has various projects because of Congresswoman Arroyo. Thank you for leading us well, Congresswoman Arroyo," she said.
Mirasol, Tongson and several others have extended their gratitude to Congresswoman Arroyo.
They have signified their full support to her in her reelection bid.
