BEATIFUL houses, buildings and other structures will never rise in our community and country without the help of the architects who are gifted with the arts and creativity not common to all.

Many can put up designs of those structures, but if it is done by a professional and experienced architect, one can see the difference.

Architect Johnny Calauag, United Architects of the Philippines-Mt. Kanlaon Chapter president for fiscal year 2021-2022 led the celebration of the 11th founding anniversary of their organization.

This year's theme was “New Decade: 11 Years of Commitment and Service to the Community.”

The celebration was held at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City recently.

The event was honored by its National President Architect Eugene C. De Guzman III.

De Guzman said, “The existence of Mt. Kanlaon (UAP chapter) for 11 years is like a mountain where we look dormant and silent but deep inside we have that rage of a fire which keeps us going that makes this chapter active and progressive.”

“We may hurdle challenges and encounter difficulties, but we walk through the process and we keep ourselves climbing until we reach the peak of our careers,” he said.

For his part, Caluag said that coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is a success.

“Remember these three words: strength, function and beauty, that is also us,” Calauag stressed, as he administered the oath-taking of the chapter members

He thanked everyone who made the event possible and to his fellow officials and architects for keeping their active commitment to the profession.
