OVER 1,000 individuals availed themselves of the free medical consultation, medicines, and dental services provided by the OVY Educational and Health Care Foundation Inc. and Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI).
The medical mission was conducted at the Ceres North Terminal in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City on Tuesday, December 11.
Jade Seballos, VTI media relations officer, said most of the patients are residents of Barangays Bata and Mandalagan, as well as the passengers and employees of VTI.
She said the patients availed themselves of the free tooth extraction, medical consultation for children and adults, sugar blood check-up, among others.
“All of them were also given free medicines and snacks after their check-up,” she added.
Seballos said the medical mission was participated by about 10 doctors and 15 dentists.
Seballos said it is the passion of Olivia Yanson, the matriarch of the Yanson family, to conduct a medical mission to help those who are in need of medical attention.
She said in February, they also held a medical mission in Dauin. They served almost 1,500 patients in Sambok Terminal.
Leo Rey Yanson, VTI president, said they will continue this program to help not only the riding public but also those who are in need of a medical check-up.
“It’s also our way to thank our riding public for their continued support and trust in VTI,” he said.
The event was also attended by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who lauded the Yanson family for helping the people in the city.
