104 new fire officers take oath

A TOTAL of 104 new fire officers of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Western Visayas take their oath on Monday, October 1.

Of the total number, 65 are male while 39 are female.

Senior Superintendent Alan Aladano, regional director of BFP-Western Visayas told SunStar Bacolod, that they reached the quota for the regional office.

The oath-taking ceremony will be held at the ground floors of the new BFP building at General M. Peralta Jr. Drive in Iloilo City.

Aladano said these new Fire Officers (FO) 1 will undergo a one-month orientation in Iloilo City, and mandatory training before they will be deployed to the different city and provincial offices in the region.

Aladano said they will have another recruitment soon to fill in the vacancies of retired BFP personnel.

Promotion

Meanwhile, 11 personnel from BFP-Western Visayas were promoted to higher ranks.

These are Chief Inspectors Bartolome Beliran, Gweenah Besas, and Eden Altamia-Baua; Inspectors Joemarie Pudadera, Jesus Valenzuela, Elvira Alvero, Reynan Gecana, and Michael Lopez; and Senior Fire Officers 4 Diosdado Hadcan Jr., Arnold Dimaano, and Elna Gazan.

Superintendent Pamela Rojane Candido, head of BFP-Negros Occidental congratulated Pudadera and Gecana, fire marshals from Himamaylan City and Kabankalan City, respectively, on their promotions.

The oath-taking rites will be held at the BFP national headquarters in Quezon City.
