ABOUT 12 kilos of “hot meat” were seized by operatives of Task Force Botagoy on Raymond Street in Barangay Singcang Airport, Bacolod City, Saturday morning, April 28.
Rex Juplo, head of Task Force Botagoy, said the “hot meat” was confiscated from the stall of Sonny Pineda, 37.
He said the confiscated meat did not undergo inspection at the city’s AVM Bernardo slaughterhouse.
The vendor failed to present inspection certificates.
The confiscated meat was burned and buried at the city’s slaughterhouse grounds.
“We will continue monitoring the public markets to stop illegal slaughtering,” Juplo said.
Juplo urged meat vendors to engage the services of the slaughterhouse in Barangay Handumanan to avoid penalties. (MAP)
