TWO more persons in Bacolod City have been quarantined in tertiary hospitals for suspected 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

Dr. Grace Tan, spokesperson of Bacolod City Inter-Agency Task For against 2019-nCoV, said Thursday, February 6, that Bacolod City now has a total of six patients under investigation (PUI).

She said on Wednesday, a Canadian national was discharged from the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) after he tested negative for 2019-nCoV.

"Six PUIs are still confined in the city's tertiary hospitals and they are all in stable condition," she added.

Tan said that on Wednesday evening, the 45-year-old woman from China and 29-year-old woman who had history of travel from Hong Kong and Macau were added on their list of PUIs in Bacolod.

Tan said both PUIs developed signs and symptoms of 2019-nCoV acute respiratory disease (ARD) few days after they arrived in the Philippines.

She said the six PUIs include three males and three females, but it does not mean that they are positive for the virus.

She said they are still waiting for the confirmatory test from the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM).

Tan reminded the public to continue practicing proper hygiene, washing hand regularly, and observing proper cough and sneeze etiquette.
