2 motives eyed in slay of man inside jeep

BACOLOD City Police Station 2 is eyeing two possible motives in the killing of the 37-year-old man at Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, Bacolod City on Monday, May 27

Police Captain Leo Estopa, chief of Police Station 2, said Tuesday they are eyeing personal grudge or illegal drugs as possible motives in the killing of Ronilo Nicavera Jr.

Nicavera, a resident of Purok Macasa, Barangay Dulao, Bago City, sustained gunshot wound on his back when unidentified assailant fired at him inside the public utility jeepney parked along Purok Lampirong.

Police recovered from scene of the crime one deformed slug of unidentified firearm.

Estopa said they are still conducting a thorough investigation and gathering evidences to determine the identity of the perpetrator.

He said there’s a possibility that the perpetrator was also the companion of the victim.

“There’s an intention to kill the victim inside the PUJ,” he added.

Estopa said some residents near the area were also afraid to give information for security reason. (MAP)
