2 station commanders told to step up vs ‘basag kotse’

SENIOR Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, acting director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), told station commanders of Police Stations 1 and 2 to exert more effort in solving the two incidents of “basag kotse” in their respective areas.

The Bacolod top cop issued the order to Senior Inspectors Marc Joeil Reclamado, and Leo Estopa, head of Police Stations 1 and 2, respectively, following the recent incident victimizing the daughter of Abang-Lingkod party-list Representative Stephen Paduano at Gatuslao Street in Barangay 8 on October 1.

On Monday, October 1, Christy Jane Paduano, 27, parked her vehicle at the said area but when she returned past 11 a.m., she discovered that the window on the front seat of her car was already broken. Her bag containing wallet, Identification cards, Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards, and P2,000 in cash was already missing, police records showed.

It was the first time it happened in that area, Ebreo said.

Ebreo said the BCPO has no record of “basag kotse” incidents from June until the first week of September.

The incidents only happened during the second week of September in the area of Police Station 1 and the recent case this month under Police Station 2, he added.

“I am tasking them (station commanders) to exert efforts to immediately identify the perpetrators,” Ebreo said.

He said the two station commanders already made some adjustments on the deployment of personnel in these areas to prevent the recurrence of the incident. (GYM)
