THE second Provincial Management Conference was held recently at Sugarland Hotel in Bacolod City.
It was spearheaded by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office in Negros Occidental. It was attended by all environment officers in the province.
Also present were Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Western Visayas director Jim Sampulna and chief of staff Livino Duran.
Tackled during the meeting were the agency’s target and accomplishment reports and updates regarding the National Greening Program Plantation Establishment, as well as the inventory of forest occupants/structure and actions taken.
Penro Edgardo Rostata said the conference was held to present all accomplishments done for the first quarter as well as the issues and concerns that need to be addressed.
Sampulna, amidst his hectic schedule on the restoration and rehabilitation of Boracay Island, took the time to attend the conference, as he challenged and reminded the environment officials about their duties and responsibilities. (PR)
