3 hurt, 6 houses razed by fire

THREE persons were injured in a fire that destroyed four houses and damaged two others at Purok Kamunsil in Barangay 3, Bacolod City Wednesday, October 10.

Chief Inspector Publio Doctora Ploteña, city fire marshal of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), said Remy Laurencio, Paul Hucon, and his wife Ana sustained minor burns when they tried to save their belongings.

They were rushed to a hospital.

Ploteña said the fire broke out at 3:40 p.m. from the two-storey house owned by deceased Elisa Laurencio.

Remy and the Hucon couple were staying at Elisa's house.

The fire then spread to other houses owned by Henry Laurencio, Veronica Alianza, and Jemmy Jemilia. It also damaged two other houses owned by Jesus Jenilia and Honeybee Sicano.

Some of the houses are made of light materials.

The BFP declared fire out after almost an hour.

The estimated cost of damage was pegged at P100, 000, Ploteña said.

Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of fire. (GYM)
