THREE men were reportedly abducted in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental early morning Wednesday, July 27, but local police chief Lt. Col. Reymond Cruz said it was a simple case of misunderstanding.

Joemarie Flores, 43, of Purok Camunsil in Bago City, told the police that he, along with two others whom he only identified as alias “Joseph” and alias “Alog”, were reportedly forced into a van in front of a convenience store in Kabankalan City proper.

Flores claimed that the suspects allegedly led by alias “Uni”, of Barangay Mambugsay in Cauayan town took P80,000 from them and left them somewhere in Ilog town.

Investigation showed that the three had played gambling at a wake in Candoni town and were on their way home when they were allegedly abducted.

The three victims were not harmed, the police said.*
