3 nabbed for illegal firearms

THREE persons were arrested for illegal possession of firearms in separate operations in Negros Occidental Thursday, July 12.

In Kabankalan City, Rammil Sait, 45, of Barangay Locotan, was arrested after police raided his house by virtue of a search warrant.

Police recovered from him a .45 caliber pistol loaded with one live ammunition, two magazines loaded each with six live ammunition, two live ammunition, and two holsters.

Also collared in Kabankalan City was Ramel Caloring, 39, of Manjuyod, Negros Oriental, security guard, after he was caught in possession of a firearm, when he was suspiciously sighted, together with three others, including a 16-year-old boy at Barangay Tagukon. They were allegedly selling a stolen goat from Pamplona town in the village.

All suspects were brought to the police station while the minor was turned over to the Women and Children Protection Desk.

In Sagay City, Alberto Reboton, 31, of Barangay Bangkerohan, Cadiz City, was arrested in a police checkpoint at Barangay Poblacion 2 after he yielded a .38 caliber revolver with two live ammunition, two fired bullets of the same firearm, and a motorcycle.
