3 police chiefs, 2 others reshuffled

FIVE police, including three police chiefs, in Negros Occidental were relieved from their posts effective Monday, November 26.

Provincial Director Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr. of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), ordered the relief of Superintendent Glenn Provido, deputy provincial director for operations of Nocppo; Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez of Himamaylan City Police Station; Chief Inspector Rocky Desear of Cadiz City Police Station; and Chief Robert Mansueto of Sagay City Police Station.

Provido replaced Desear as officer-in-charge of Cadiz City Police Station.

Benitez was moved to Sagay City Police Station as officer-in-charge while Desear was transferred to Himamaylan City Police Station for the same designation.

Mansueto was reassigned to Nocppo headquarters. He was the chief of Sagay City Police Station during the massacre of nine farmers at Hacienda Nene in Barangay Bulanon on October 20.

Senior Inspector Aireen Cordua, public information officer of Nocppo, said the police will be relieved from their posts if their term of office falls on the election period between January to June 2019.

Meanwhile, Police Officer 3 Robert John Tarre of the provincial police headquarters was also transferred to the Cadiz City Police Station as one of its personnel. (GYM)
