An additional 335 rice retailers comprising the third batch in Western Visayas will receive subsidies from the government.
Reginald Hudierez, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Consumer Protection provincial head, said Bacolod City will have the most number of recipients, with 42.
The subsidy will range from P5,000 to P15,000 each, with the Department of Social Welfare and Development conducting the distribution.
The distribution, Hudierez said, will be held in three venues in Bacolod City, Kabankalan City for southern Negros, and Escalante City for northern Negros.
The DTI, he said, will be conducting post-monitoring compliance
The rice retailers are getting subsidies from the government after they were affected by the implementation of Executive Order No. 39 issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., which implemented a rice price ceiling.
