400 delegates to attend Micecon 2018 in Bacolod

ABOUT 400 delegates are expected to arrive in Bacolod City for the Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibitions Conference (Micecon) on November 27 to 29.

Councilor Em Ang, chairperson of the City Council committee on tourism, said it’s all set for the Micecon that will be attended by participants from the Mice industries such as airlines, hotels, resorts, convention centers, event organizers, and exhibit organizers which will start on Tuesday, November 27.

She said the Micecon event will be held at the SMX Convention Center with breakout sessions at Resorts Negrense with different international speakers which were tapped by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB).

TPB is tasked to formulate and implement an integrated domestic and international promotions and marketing program for Philippine tourism.

The TPB is also responsible for marketing and promoting the Philippines domestically and internationally as a major global tourism destination.

Mice also refers to business events that entail a large convergence.

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat is also expected to attend the event.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia earlier said that in the tourism world, this is a specialized program that is prestigious and very lucrative.

“This is something that is very prestigious and our hosting will mean that we are also now in the league of big players in the tourism industry,” he said. (MAP)
