FIVE police personnel under the Bacolod City Police Office and Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office were among the nine cops recently dismissed by Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas director, Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan for alleged involvement on illegal drug activities.

Pamuspusan identified the nine cops as Police Sergeant Charlie Lamis Blanza, Patrolman Angelo Ca-al, Patrolman Henson Digon, Police Corporal Victor Jimenia, Patrolman Kennet Escolta, Patrolman John Paul Talaban, Police Staff Sergeant Jojie Salahid, Patrolman Joselito Colantro, Jr., and Police Corporal Pedrito Lupo.

According to Pamuspusan, the relief of the nine is part of PRO-Western Visayas' ongoing internal cleansing.

Aside from the nine cops, 11 other police officers have also been recommended for dismissal.

He said he has no second thoughts relieving erring police officers, especially those involved in illegal drugs.

He said PRO-Western Visayas will further boost its counter-intelligence efforts and he ordered all cops in the region to strengthen their neutralization of high-value drug targets.

Pamuspusan also affirmed that he had signed the dismissal papers of another police officer also involved in illegal drugs.
