ANOTHER employee of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental died due to coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Provincial Administrator lawyer Rayfrando Diaz II confirmed Monday, October 11, that the female employee died on Sunday, October 10.
The patient was under the Provincial Treasurer's Office, assigned as cashier at the Valeriano Gatuslao District Hospital in Himamaylan City.
She had diabetes and was scheduled for dialysis when she died at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City.
Diaz said the employee was just promoted to a higher position.
"Sad to say, she did not make it in her struggle against Covid," Diaz said.
The victim was treated at Cadiz District Hospital but was later transferred to CLMMRH due to severe Covid-1, he added.
