Army detonates recovered explosives in Bago City

THE 303rd Infantry Brigade successfully disposed five explosives found in Barangay Busay, Bago City on May 4.

A local resident of Purok Malipayon of said barangay found a fragmentation hand grenade on a dried rice field on May 2, 2020.

The residents immediately called the attention of their barangay officials and the local police in the area.

The Bago City Police Office personnel immediately responded and recovered one fragmentation hand grenade and four others classified as 1 - Grenade Rifle, 1 - Projectile Grenade, and 2 - Fuze Assembly.

Police Major John Joel Batusbatusan, officer-in-charge of Bago City Police Station, requested support from 303rd Infantry Brigade for the proper disposal of said explosives.

Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, said “We appreciate the attentiveness of the populace in the said barangay in calling the attention of proper authorities to disposed the said explosives. A little mishandling of this explosives can cause serious harm or injuries and even loss of lives of innocent civilians in the area”.

“I encourage our fellow Negrense to report immediately to the authorities anything about similar objects in the future found in your area for proper disposition.” Colonel Pasaporte added.
