A POLICEMAN who had gone on Absent Without Office Leave (Awol) died in a road accident on Alijis Road, Bangga Lote, Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City Sunday evening, December 6.
Police identified the fatality as Aries John Elmission, 29, of Bakyas, Encarnacion, Barangay Mansilingan.
Police Lieutenant Conrado Espino Jr., chief of Police Station 7, said Monday, December 7, Elmission was driving his motorcycle around 10:15 p.m. toward east direction of Alijis Road when he bumped into a tricycle driven by Jerome Brose, 26, of Hacienda Edmar, Barangay Felisa.
Elmission, who was assigned outside Bacolod City, sustained serious injuries and died on the spot, while Brose was unhurt.
Investigation showed that Brose was pushing his tricycle along the roadside when Elmission suddenly bumped the tricycle.
Espino said Elmisson’s family decided not to file a case against Brose, who is detained at station and he will be released after the lapse of the 18-hour reglementary period.
