Bacolod council approves P113-M supplemental budget for Covid-19

THE Bacolod City Council ratified the approved resolution of the City Development Council (CDC) for the supplemental budgeting amounting to P113 million of the four departments for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) measures in the city.

Councilor Renecito Novero, majority floor leader, said yesterday the P113 million supplemental budget was approved during the special session of the City Council on Saturday.

He said the budget will be used by the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD), City Engineer's Office (CEO), City Health Office (CHO), and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) for their undertakings against Covid-19.

Novero said that the DSSD is in-charge for the foods and other needs of the Covid-19 patients including the locally stranded individuals who were placed in the city's quarantine centers while, the CEO is also set to renovate and improve the 10 additional public schools as quarantine centers.

Novero said the CHO also needs more funds for their equipment and medicines among others while, the DRRMO needs funds for the personal protective equipment (PPE) and for the conduct of disinfection in various barangays and offices in the city.

" These budget will be used for Covid-19 issues only and the four departments will also liquidate their budget," he said.
