Bacolod council condoles with Rife family

THE Bacolod City Council has approved expressed its deepest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family of the late Barangay 21 chief Felipe Gregorio Rife Jr., who passed away on December 22.

The resolution, authored by Councilor Lady Gles Pallen, was approved during the regular session of the City Council on Tuesday, December 27.

Pallen said the death of Rife is a great loss not only to his immediate family and friends but to everyone who came to know him for having served Barangay 21 as a three-term barangay kagawad and as village chief from 2013 up to the time of his death.

"During his term as a village chief of Barangay 21, Rife has served his constituents with utmost sincerity and dedication and had contributed significant development programs and projects in Barangay 21 in particular, and in the City of Bacolod," she said.

As village chief, she added that Rife has been very active in promoting the well-being of his constituents, especially in the fight against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Pallen noted that during Rife's term, Barangay 21 was declared a drug-free barangay in Bacolod.

"The City Council shares the grief and longing for the lost loved one for whom we bid goodbye as he commences his journey for eternal rest in heaven, but we take it with joy that divine will have ended the pain and suffering of Rife and he will start a new life hereafter in a clear puritan world till eternity," Pallen said.
