THE Pilgrim Relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus arrived in Bacolod City, on February 28.

The relic was welcomed at the port by members of the 71st Infantry Division of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police.

Bacolod Bishop Patricio Buzon welcomed the relics at the San Sebastian Cathedral.

A mass was held after the welcome rites, presided over by Rev. Fr. Jetchel Villar and Rev. Fr. Greg Neri.

Veneration of the relics for the faithful from the Vicariates of San Sebastian and Alijis followed.

About 1,500 people venerated the relic at the cathedral, which lasted for about two and a half hours.

A caravan then brought the relic to the Carmelite Monastery-Bacolod.

The community welcomed the relic in a silent procession and prayer. A Mass was held at the Carmelite Monastery Chapel presided by Bishop Buzon.

Veneration of the relic followed after the mass.

"We are greatly blessed by the visit of the pilgrim relif of St. Therese of the Child Jesus. May her two-day stay in our diocese re-enkindle in our hearts the desire for holiness to which we are all called. May her life inspire us, and her 'little way' teach us that we too can attain holiness by doing ordinary things with love. With love, we put a divine stamp on everything we do, even the littlest thing - for God is love," Buzon said. (ADSUM Diocese of Bacolod)
