Bacolod government employees to get bonus next week

MORE than 1,400 employees of the City Government of Bacolod will receive their mid-year bonus starting next week.

City Treasurer Giovanni Balalilhe said yesterday they already processed the payroll to release the one-month basic pay to all entitled personnel of the city.

He said Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued a memorandum last week to start the processing the payroll of the mid-year bonus that will be released not earlier than May 15.

Only the regular employees could avail the mid-year bonus. The bonus is equivalent to an employee's one-month salary.

"In spite of our obligation on Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections, we will do our best to release the bonus on May 15," Balalilhe said.

He said the City Treasurer's Office personnel were tasked to report on Saturday until Monday to serve the Elections Day.

Balalilhe noted that the Department of Finance was deputized by the Commission on Elections to handle the custody, safekeeping, and distribution of the elections paraphernalia.

"The CTO was tasked to handle and delivery of the elections paraphernalia's to various polling precincts," Balalilhe said.

He said he will deploy about 27 personnel and will request the other department heads or employees to assist them in the delivery of the ballots.
