Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez along with some of the city councilors and department heads will attend a roadshow in Hong Kong to promote the city from September 12 to 17, 2023.
Benitez said Wednesday, September 13, that he designated Councilor Israel Salanga as acting mayor effective September 13 until Sunday, September 17.
He said Councilor Em Ang was also designated as acting vice mayor.
Benitez travelled along with Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Councilors Celia Matea Flor, Cindy Rojas, Jason Villarosa, Renecito Novero, Simplicia Distrito, Lady Gles Pallen, Jude Thaddeus Sayson, Vladimir Gonzalez and Al Victor Espino as well as some department heads in the city.
Benitez said they will attend the 2023 Belt and Road Summit that will be held at the Convention Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong.
He said he planned several trips to promote Bacolod City worldwide.
“We should not wait for the investors to come here, we should go there to convince them to invest in Bacolod City for the city’s development,” he added.*
