“IT'S the symbol of Bacolod City.”

This was stressed by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez Monday, July 3, after he already transferred to the newly renovated City Mayor’s Office at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC).

Benitez said the CMO’s staff transferred their things to the new mayor’s office on Sunday, July 2, and they already received guests, including the 14 officials from Zamboanga del Sur.

The mayor used his personal funds of about P16 million for the renovation and expansion of the CMO.

Benitez said the funds also include the furniture and fixtures at the CMO.

“It’s not a new building, it’s a renovation only. We had to demolish some of the whole structures and we also repaired its roof,” he said.

He added they expanded the conference rooms, among others to accommodate the visitors.

Aside from the CMO, the mayor disclosed that the city will also construct a legislative building for the City Council and their old offices will be occupied by other offices especially those offices at old city hall.*
