Binalbagan imposes ‘no registration, no entry’ policy in Bi-ao

TO CONTROL the crowd and vehicles going up to the tourism road in Barangay Bi-ao, Binalbagan, the municipal government will impose the “no registration, no entry” policy starting Friday, January 27.

Binalbagan Mayor Alejandro Mirasol cited Sections 1 and 2 of Executive Order No. 5, Series of 2020 on the regulation of the number of visitors to also ensure their safety.

"All tourists, leisure visitors, and all visitors for any purposes of Hermit and Trese in Sitio Bulwang, Barangay Bi-ao shall register at least a day before the travel at the Municipal Tourism Office,” he said.

He said the registration shall be free of charge.

Registration could be done by face-to-face transaction at the Municipal Tourism Office or they could also use the QR Code and website link for the online registration as an option, Mirasol added.

Registration is Monday to Friday, from 8 am - 5 pm only.

Mirasol also stated that a maximum of 300 tourists/leisure visitors shall be allowed to enter Hermit and Trese in Sitio Bulwang.

"The list of first 300 tourists/visitors who have registered at the Municipal Tourism Office shall be submitted to the barangay for checking at the entrance area," the advisory further said.

Mirasol is also encouraging everyone to abide by the rules and guidelines ordered by the local government unit and the barangay especially rules with regard to garbage.

"Reminder that Hermit is under Protective Land Use Act, violators will be sanctioned under this law," Mirasol also warned.

"Entry to Hermit has no charge," Mirasol also emphasized.

The area has been visited by thousands of visitors and tourists, especially during weekends and the LGU has been complaining about the garbages left in the area.*
