A SIX-year-old Felix “Batoto” Debuyan–Alvarez of Sipalay City, Negros Occidental has been battling leukemia since 2013.

His body conditioning prior to the stem cell transplant procedure will start on September 17 and his hospital admission will start from this day onwards, said his mother, Donabel.

The procedure will be done at St. Lukes Global, the only hospital in the country that has a stem cell transplant facility.

Donabel shared that after four years of battling this dreadful illness and was almost on his full recovery, another devastating turn of event shattered their hopes for his complete healing, and his leukemia has relapsed on August 2017.

His doctor told the family that the boy needs a bone marrow transplant in order to get into another glimpse of light on his journey.

This process, according to the doctor, would give a greater hope for the complete healing of the boy.

“Sadly, we were told to prepare P2 million as the cost of the procedure. And that put us again in another dilemma for we do not have such an amount, nonetheless, all we want now is for us to try all possibilities to save my son’s life,” Donabel said.

She appealed to those who have a generous heart and compassion for Batoto “to help us raise the needed amount for the transplant. Your kindness will surely bring my Felix into whole again after being broken by this life – an excruciating sickness that has grabbed his vigor. A penny you wish to share from your bounties will surely help save the life of my son.”
