Boy battling cancer gets help

THE family of six-year-old Felix “Batoto” Debuyan–Alvarez of Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, who had been battling leukemia since 2013, has expressed their gratitude as some good Samaritans responded to their call for help.

The boy’s mother, Donabel Alvarez, thanked SunStar Bacolod for helping their call for help as it has gained positive response from kindhearted and compassionate individuals in the community.

The boy is set to undergo a stem cell transplant procedure on September 29 but his body conditioning will start on September 17.

The procedure will be done at St. Lukes Global, the only hospital in the country that has a stem cell transplant facility.

They were told to prepare P2 million for the procedure.

For those who wish to send their help, kindly contact her through 090777480628 and 09278268050. (Carla N. Cañet)
