Capitol acquiring 11 new ambulances for hospitals

THE provincial government will acquire 11 new ambulances for all of its district hospitals.

Leo Eusebio, head of Hospital Operations Department (HOD), said that right now, the 11 hospitals run and managed by the Provincial Capitol has one ambulance each.

"These ambulances are operating 24 hours a day, so it's very crucial to hospital operation,” Eusebio said.

Acting Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said the acquisition of the new ambulances would be up for bidding

as the Purchase Request has already been made.

Eusebio said that the drivers assigned to the ambulances will work in shifts, adding they are expert drivers because driving an ambulance is sometimes stressful than driver a regular vehicle.

He said acquiring new ambulances is part of the improvement being done by the province in the hospitals.

Meanwhile, Eusebio explained that the case of the alleged death of twins at Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital will be referred to a committee.

He said the hospital has not committed any lapses on the delivery.
