Capitol offices moving out of PAC in December

SOME department offices occupying the Provincial Administration Center (PAC) will be relocated in December to give way for the construction of the P1.6 billion mixed-use commercial building of Dynamic Builders, Inc.

Lucille Gelvolea, Negros Occidental Acting Provincial Administrator, said some departments will be moving out of the building in December and will move to the Philippine National Bank, St. Francis Building and Benjamin Hall which will be rented by the provincial government except for the mezzanine of PNB which is owned by the provincial government.

It will be occupied by the Provincial Planning and Development Office, Provincial Environment Management Office and the Provincial Legal Office.

These offices will temporarily occupy the said offices for about two years when the new P900-million PAC building will be finished.

The bidding for the design and build contract for the building will be held on the second week of December, Gelvolea also said.

The Dynamic Builders, meanwhile, will also start the construction of the mixed-use commercial building once the old PAC building is already cleared by the province.

It will seat on the 6,485 square-meter Capitol property.

In another development, Gelvolea said yesterday that the two permanent Capitol employees who were confirmed positive for use of illegal drugs will be made to undergo another test by the Department of Health that will determine the stage of their use of illegal drugs.

Based on the guidelines of the Civil Service Commission, they could not be immediately fired out. They will undergo rehabilitation for six months and they will use their leave credits during their six months rehabilitation, Gelvolea said.
