Ceneco assures no disconnection during ECQ

CENTRAL Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) has assured its consumers that they have suspended the disconnection of electric service while the enhanced community quarantine is in effect.

Ceneco officer-in-charge Engr. Jose Taniongon in a statement said the acceptance of electricity bills payment in their main and sub-offices including other collecting banks and ALVIO collection centers is to accommodate interested paying consumers who are eager to pay their bills but don’t have access to online payment methods.

Taniongon added that they are following the strict measures imposed by the local government and have told those who are going to their offices in order to pay their bills to always wear their face masks and carry their quarantine passes.

He said they will not allow entry to individuals who are not wearing face masks and are not carrying quarantine passes. They are also strictly observing social distancing.

Taniongon added regular office operations will resume once the enhanced community quarantine is lifted, while disconnection will also be announced at least one week before implementation.

Ceneco is also encouraging its consumers to download and use their new mobile application in order to view their bills and general notices.

Earlier on Monday, several people gathered at the Ceneco office and failed to observe social distancing.

Both police and Ceneco security personnel made attempts at crowd control and reminded those waiting to observe social distancing however, some refused to comply. (TDE)
