SULPICIO Lagarde, general manager of Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. (Ceneco), confirmed Thursday, April 26, that electricity rates will increase this month.
The increase for "affected consumers" will be at P11.9020/kWh with three adjustments implemented by the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corporation (Psalm), Kepco Salcon Power Corporation and Energreen/Cenpri and P11.5926/kWh with two adjustments implemented by KSPC and Energreen/Cenpri.
Lagarde explained that the "affected consumers" pertain to electricity consumers who are affected by the recovery of Psalm, Generation Rate Adjustment Mechanism (Gram), Incremental Currency Exchange Rate Adjustment (Icera) and Automatic Cost Recovery Mechanism (ACRM) True-up Adjustment within the relevant period covering January 2007 to April 2010, as per Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) order dated June 20, 2017.
The Psalm recovery for this month is in the amount of P0.3094/kWh. The recovery shall be implemented for the next 60 months.
"Unaffected consumers" are those who were not using electricity within the said relevant period," Lagarde said.
For KSPC Adjustment, Ceneco also implemented Kepco-Salcon Power Corporation's (KSPC) adjustment to recover the differential billing equivalent to a monthly rate of ?0.0817/kWh for the next 50 months, based on ERC decision on the case no. 2013-141RC.
On Energreen/Cenpri Adjustment, Lagarde said that another recovery from Energreen/Cenpri affected an impact of 0.0930/kWh based on ERC Order on ERC Case No. 2016-008DR.
Lagarde said Ceneco will explain further today the rate adjustment during the transparency meeting.
He said the Energy Regulatory Board has the go signal for the implementation of the said rate adjustments.
