A RESOLUTION urging the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) to ban “j-walking” along the Lacson-Circumferential flyover at Barangay Bata was approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday, September 7.

Authored by Councilor Claudio Puentevella, the resolution also urges BTAO head Major Junji Liba to deploy traffic enforcers, install road signage, safety devices and barriers to prevent road accidents there.

Puentevella, chairperson of the City Council committee on health, energy and environment, said numerous fatal road accidents involving pedestrians and motorists occur along that area.

“The deployment of additional traffic enforcers will also ensure the enforcement of traffic laws in the place,” he said.
