CNA bonus for Capitol workers uncertain yet

NEGROS Occidental Acting Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said yesterday it is not yet sure if Capitol employees will get their P25,000 Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) bonus this December.

Gelvolea explained that Provincial Budget Officer Jose Percival Salado Jr. is getting a clarification about the guidelines of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on the provision and that the performance should be 70 percent accomplishment in terms of implementation.

"The provincial budget is still inquiring what is meant by the implementation. Is it fully implemented or partially implemented? So if we cannot get the 70% performance and accomplishment, I don't know if we can have the CNA. Is it in terms of budget, physical accomplishment, or financial because it is relative," Gelvolea explained.

She stressed that in some areas, the province was not able to get the Seal of Good Local Governance because they failed to comply with the 70 percent cut off.

The province has been doing everything in terms of performance in terms of financial especially on the disaster, she added.

On the source of funds for the CNA bonus, Capitol has no problem in terms of savings, she said.

In case it will be granted, all Capitol employees including the casual and permanent employees will get the CNA bonus, Gelvolea said.

Venchito Magalona, president of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE), said they are looking forward to receiving the bonus.

He said that employees also expect additional bonus before the New Year.
