Comelec stops distribution of COC forms

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Bacolod City temporarily stopped the distribution of certificate of candidacy (COC) forms due to some revisions.

City Election Registrar Mavil Majarucon-Sia said on Friday that there is a revision on the final form and they will wait for another instruction before distributing the forms.

The directive came from the Comelec central office.

“To those who already secured the COC forms, it will not be recognized by Comelec. Just wait for the final forms,” Majarucon-Sia added.

She noted they will announce once the COC forms are already available at Comelec office.

The filing of COC will start on October 11 to 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Majarucon-Sia said the candidates should file their COC early so they will have enough time to correct their documents.

She said the election period will start from January 13 to June 12, 2019.

The campaign period for senator and party-list will be from February 12 to May 11, 2019.

She added the campaign period for congressman and other local candidates will start from March 29 to May 11, 2019. (MAP)
