Couple nabbed for stealing P96K in cash from Korean national

A COUPLE was arrested after they robbed a Korean national with cash amounting to P96,000 inside a restaurant at East Block A, Villa Angela building, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City Sunday night.

Police identified the suspects as Reynaldo Gamilde, 48; and his partner Lyn Gaoat, 39, both residents of Barangay Punta Salong, Manapla town.

The two suspects were caught by a waitress allegedly stealing the bag of restaurant marketing manager Jong Rhyeul Park, 36, inside the vicinity past 7 p.m., police records showed.

Both suspects fled but were chased by bystanders and were later cornered by the policemen.

Police recovered from the female suspect the stolen bag containing wallet, credit cards, P96,000 in cash, a cellular phone worth P10,000, and a passbook.

They are detained at Police Station 4.

Meanwhile, Gamilde, in an interview with Aksyon Radyo Bacolod, yesterday admitted the crime, claiming that it was their first time.

Gamilde said they committed the crime because of poverty.
