DILG-Bacolod to release delayed salaries of contact tracers

THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Bacolod City will release the delayed salaries of the contact tracers in the city this week.

This was stressed by DILG-Bacolod head Ma. Joy Marideth Madayag on Monday, December 21, after some of the hired contact tracers in Bacolod failed to receive their salaries from the months of October and November.

"We have a delayed [pay] because we are also waiting for the funds to be downloaded by the national government," Madayag said.

DILG-Bacolod earlier hired about 322 contact tracers and augmented to the local government unit.

The contact tracers were hired to help track those who might have been infected with coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in various areas of Bacolod City.

They were tasked to conduct interviews, profiling, and performing health risk assessment of Covid-19 positive cases including the close contacts.

Madayag said of 322, 311 of them already received their salaries from the month of October and for the month of November [salary] is still on process.

"Maybe this week, DILG-Western Visayas will download the funds so they can release the salaries of the remaining 11 contact tracers," she said.

She added some of the contact tracers also failed to submit their daily-time-record on time as well as their accomplishment report.
