A DRUG surrenderer was arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Calumangan in Bago City, Negros Occidental Sunday.
Collared was Romeo Jamelano Jr., 43, of the said village.
Police recovered from him three sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P1,800, lighter, cellular phone, the P300 marked money and P600 in cash.
He is detained at Bago City Police Station.
Meanwhile, the top most wanted person and third top drug personality of Himamaylan City Police Station died in a shootout with police operatives when authorities served him an arrest warrant for illegal possession of firearms and illegal possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia at Camella Homes in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City on June 8.
Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez Jr., city police chief, said Charles Jayson Javelosa of Barangay Aguisan, Himamaylan City, resisted arrest from the operatives during the operation.
He was wearing a Special Weapons and Tactics (Swat) vest when he fired at them, which prompted the operatives to retaliate, causing injuries to the suspect. Policemen were unharmed.
Also arrested was his partner, Regina Gavaran, 27, of Barangay San Pedro, Binalbagan town, who tried to block the police from entering the house.
Benitez said Gavaran is facing a criminal complaint about obstruction.
Police recovered from the scene a homemade .45 caliber pistol, a sachet of suspected shabu, plastic straw scoops, lighter, eight fired cartridge of .45 caliber and .9mm caliber pistols, three deformed fired bullets, a fired bullet, three metal jackets, three metal fragments, and a live ammunition of .45 caliber pistol.
